Resident receives mean-spirited anonymous letter: Strongsville Police Blotter

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio — Suspicious situation, Lakeview Circle: On Sept. 10, a Lakeview Circle resident came to the police station to report that someone had written a nasty letter, which was delivered to their home.
The anonymous person insulted the way they kept their yard, calling them “unsophisticated country-dwelling folk.” The letter was sent on Pine Lakes Homeowners Association letterhead.
The association apparently had nothing to do with the letter. The homeowner wanted the incident documented.

Reports of anonymous hate mail in HOA-villes across the U.S. are becoming more common. In this case, the letter arrived on HOA letterhead, although association leaders deny they had anything to do with it.
Obviously, there’s one very unfriendly neighbor living in Pine Lakes, apparently the kind of neighbor who suffers from a superiority complex.

INDIANAPOLIS — An Indy woman caught on video attacking and threatening her neighbor is trying to sell her home on the city’s northwest side.
Vicki New’s home on Twin Creeks Drive was officially on the market as of Monday.
The 67-year-old was caught on camera last month threatening to kill her next-door neighbors and hitting them with “No Trespassing” signs over a property line dispute.
Following an RTV6 report, police further investigated the case and criminal charges were filed against New for battery and trespassing.
In a phone interview with RTV6, New said she was not sorry for what happened and claimed the video “must have been doctored” if it showed her hitting her neighbor.
RTV6 has obtained a “cease and desist” letter from the attorneys representing the Twin Creeks Homeowners Association that was sent to New just days after RTV6’s first story aired about the incident.

According to the HOA, more than 20 residents have come forward to report harassment from New.
“Unfortunately, the situation has escalated. In fact, as I understand, incidents of harassment have grown significantly in frequency and intensity to a point where residents are fearful of leaving their own homes,” the letter reads. “Most disconcerting is that many of Vicki’s recent actions were motivated by racial animus and specifically targeted African American and Hispanic residents. Thus, Vicki has not only singlehandedly created an unwelcoming living environment but has also caused minority residents to be demeaned and discriminated against based upon race. Calling this unacceptable is a gross understatement.”
An ugly property line dispute is caught on camera, and goes viral on YouTube. Because of the racial and ethnic discrimination involved, the HOA was compelled to get involved by sending Vicki New a “cease and disist” letter following her violent outburst and nasty threats against her neighbors. The local TV station reports that New just put her home up for sale.
Tulsa Man Arrested For Pistol-Whipping Man And Firing Off Round

TULSA, Oklahoma – A Tulsa man is recovering after he says a man hit him with a pistol.
The victim, Robert Alberty, says he was at home Friday when his electricity was turned off by the homeowner’s association. Alberty says his bill was paid, so Saturday he went to ask the HOA why the electricity was turned off.
“We have all bills paid and he’s shutting off all of our electricity, I don’t understand it,” said Alberty.
When Alberty approached the HOA with the question, about their electricity things escalated.
“I’m trying to talk to him and this other car pulls up behind me, and the guy jumps out with the gun and starts threatening to shoot me,” said Alberty.
He says that’s when the Vice President of the HOA, James Hair, pistol-whipped him and fired a shot into the air.

Condo owner Robert Alberty just wanted to know why is electricity was shut off. According to the report, when he tried to talk to a member of his HOA board, the Vice President of the association, James Hair, allegedly pistol-whipped him, fired off one round, and threatened both Alberty and his wife with his weapon.
Hair was arrested by local police following the incident, reportedly for assault and battery with a deadly weapon.
Understandably, Alberty and his family fear for their safety.
Man charged with open murder in lakefront condo shooting

Anthony “AJ” Federighe was fatally shot at a Muskegon Lake condominium.
MUSKEGON, MI – The fatal shooting of a 22-year-old at a lakefront condominium in Muskegon Tuesday stemmed from “an obsession” the defendant had with the victim’s father, according to a prosecutor.
Bond was set at $1 million for Paul Thomas Gabriel, 59, who is accused of killing 22-year-old Anthony “AJ” Federighe. The shooting occurred Sept. 25 at Balcom’s Cove Condominiums on Muskegon Lake.
Gabriel was charged with open murder, which includes first- and second-degree murder and manslaughter. In issuing the charge, the prosecutor can choose to specify the charge later or leave it up to a judge or jury.

Balcom Cove is a relatively new waterfront condominium project, equipped with amenities such as covered parking, a community room, and security features. However, an apparent longstanding feud involving Gabriel, AJ Federighe, and the victim’s father, resulted in the shooting dealt of the 22-year-old Federighe.
A commenter on the article posted several public arrest records for the victim’s father Tony Gene Federighe, including this one for simple assault, filed one day before the fatal shooting. The victim’s father has also been charged several times for driving under the influence.
The motive for the shooting remains unclear, pending a criminal investigation. Gabriel, licensed for concealed carry of a firearm, was reportedly released on $1 million bond, and told first responders that he shot Federighe in self defense. A hearing is set for October 11.
