According to the following N4T Investigation (KVOA.com), Joahua Bonillas, former account for the Presidio Villas 2 HOA has been charged with 12 felonies. He recently entered a guilty plea, based upon indefensible evidence documenting check forgeries totaling nearly $45,000.
Financial irregularities were reportedly discovered by board secretary-treasurer Maryann Kenniger, and a subsequent investigation provided ample evidence for prosecution.
During that investigation, Bonillas resigned from his full-time job at the time – an auditor for Pima County.
In this case, Bonillas has agreed to pay back the money he stole from the Villas Association. According to Kenniger, the HOA is not inclined to pursue the matter further if full restitution is made.
