What can we learn from the Nevada HOA fraud investigation?

Finally. Las Vegas Review Journal has access to many once secret files in the massive homeowners’ association fraud investigation, and those documents reveal details regading Kingpin Leon Benzer’s complex conspiracy to rip off hundreds of porperty owners in up to eight different associations.

At the center of the plan: straw buyers and rigged HOA elections. Co-conspirators were very well paid, too, inlcuding so-called “voluntary” Board members placed by Benzer.

With so many willing partners in crime, it’s no wonder the fraud went as far as it did before the FBI broke the  case.
