Flooding causes persistent damage to South Estes Drive NICOLE GONZALEZ
This report makes me wonder:
1) Why has it become standard government policy to divert responsibility for storm water system maintenance to private associations and land owners? Isn’t prevention of flooding a matter of general public interest?
2) Why continue to construct housing on every usable inch of land, including obvious downstream flood basins?
No matter how affordable it may be to initially buy or lease condos on South Estes Drive, it can become unaffordable to repair and replace homes and belongings damaged by floods. And affordable flood insurance is equally difficult to find.
